Owls Kindergarten - Our developmental kindergarten provides a collaborative environment building on children’s interests, needs and strengths to develop and spark the individual child’s creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking.

That’s why United Way partners to ensure children have access to books through Imagination Library; to provide accessible, high-quality child care and pre-K programs through Childcare Nashville; and to deliver training and support for educators to increase the quality of early childhood education through programs like Read to Succeed.

Kindergarten Readiness - From birth to age 5, the learning that happens every day prepares your child for Kindergarten and life beyond school.  Kindergarten readiness means more than just knowing your ABCs and 1,2,3s. Things like learning to share, and learning to practice self control are also Kindergarten readiness skills.

Early Childhood Education - We believe that children learn through play and make sense of the world by actively engaging in the learning process. Our goal is to help every child become an independent problem solver through age-appropriate concepts and critical thinking skills, equipping them for lifelong success.

Alabama First Class Pre-K has been ranked as the nation’s highest quality state pre-kindergarten program for 18 consecutive years! Research on the program’s long-term impacts shows that children who participated in First Class Pre-K are more likely to be successful throughout their school careers than their peers who did not participate in the program.
